My school is so cool. We have terrific friends called PE Partners that are high school seniors. They come to our schools and hang out with the special education students in the gym helping us work on physical education skills and more. They even help us when we compete in sports events for school.
Our partners worked with us to teach us a dance routine during school hours, then on this Saturday night, March 2, 2014, we got to perform in the high school auditorium at the Midlothian's Got Talent show with other students and the up and coming new country artist Brandon Chase who performed on the show called The Voice.
Not a dry eye was in the house during our performance, and we even got a standing ovation!
"My name is Maddie and I'm a small teenager who enjoys life and has fun wherever I am!"
"There's more to me than just my special needs and my diagnoses. People are very curious about me and I don't mind sharing.
I was born with a rare disorder Feingold Syndrome which consists of my most noticeable characteristic,
Microcephaly (small head). Mommy says mine is cute and petite...just like me!
"God gave it to me, so I thought I'd wear it."
